Hotsticks go top of the league with sensational win over Qormi

Hotsticks ran out 3-2 winners in a resounding victory that saw them leapfrog the current holders to the top of the table.

With both sides creating chances it took a stunning volley from midfielder Alex Bolton to break the deadlock before Shaun Grima capitalised on slack Qormi defending to ensure Hotsticks went into half-time with a two goal margin.

It took two rare moments of attacking intent for the opposition to claw their way back into the match early in the second half, but Silas Plaehn restored the lead with Hotsticks running out deserved winners with a comfortable performance thereafter.

With Qormi dropping points against Young Stars in the previous matchday fixture, Hotsticks can now enjoy a one point lead at the top of the table going into the next round of fixtures.
